Ways to avoid getting stir-crazy during quarantine

It's safe to say that so far, 2020 has been an incredibly weird time for everyone. Our favorite restaurants have gone dark, toilet paper has become an equal value to gold, and going to the supermarket is like going on a secret mission - wearing gloves, masks, and all the disinfectant gadgets! Together, however, we must do our part and work to flatten the curve.

That said - we're incredibly lucky to be living in a tech-age world that comes with so many advantages. Discover these top ways to keep from getting stir-crazy over the next month.

Wake up at your "normal" time every day: With our "new normal" - it's ok to tweak your routine to the times slightly, but don't get too crazy. It's essential to regulate your circadian rhythm. By staying consistent with your bedtime rituals and your morning wakeup calls, you can continue to regulate everything from your heart function, mood, and even eating habits.

Make lists: During times of crisis, we can easily get overwhelmed. Make checklists for daily chores around the house, groceries, and a separate list for work tasks you may need to get done. Checking off 3-5 things a day can help you stay in a routine, keep your stress to a minimum, and make you feel more accomplished. Like the CDC states, "Coping with stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger." Not into traditional list-making? Check out these apps that you can use on the go: todoist, Microsoft to-do, and streaks.

Stay active: Don't let quarantine keep you from working up a sweat. Continue to keep up with your cardio and strength training (as your physician recommends). Change up your scenery by making a room look like the outdoors or if the weather and social distancing permits - get outside to break a sweat. Looking to change up your routine? Take a virtual field trip: We can all feel like we're missing out by scrolling through past photos of vacations. A solution is here to solve your fear of missing out: virtual museum tours. That's right, thanks to Google Arts and Culture, you can see inside some of the most famous museums in the world. Check out the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York with over 5,000 years of art on display or dive into the rich culture showcased in the Palace of Versailles in France. With over 2500 museums to choose from, you will not be disappointed. Check out all the museums here: Google Arts and Culture.

Stay connected: These new restrictions can isolate us more than ever before. It's essential to social distance, but that doesn't mean you have to shut down your social life entirely. Stay in contact virtually through zoom, google hangouts, facetime, houseparty, and more - your options are endless. Play games, host a virtual happy hour, keep working out with friends, "meet-up" for dinner, or host a book club. Now is the time to get creative!

Remember, at the end of the day; we're all in this together. If you need to get out for any reason - emergencies, pickup essential supplies, doctor appointments, or to drive around the block because "you need to break out" for a minute - our team is here.
