1) Barton Municipal Springs Pool

Located in downtown Austin, the 1,000-foot natural limestone pool is a family favorite. It's located in Zilker Park and has many walking paths, wheelchair access, and lifeguards on duty. Gear up for a splashin' good time.

2) Austin Nature and Science Center

Open daily with no admission charge, the Austin Nature and Science Center is sparks interest with its interactive exhibits and programs. The Center has numerous trails throughout and events for all ages. The Park also holds one of Austin's top attractions - the Umlauf Sculpture Garden.

3) The Bat Bridge

It's getting batty up in here! In conjunction with Bat Conservation International, check out the Bat Bridge not far off the beaten path from downtown. Learn about and watch as the Mexican free-tailed bats under the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge take flight at dusk every evening from March through November. It can take up to 45 minutes for them to exit their home. View from the bridge or at the Statesman Bat Observation Center at the southern end of the bridge.

4) Texas Memorial Museum

A part of the Natural Science Center at the University of Texas - Austin, discover the culture and history of the Lone Star State. Exhibits include dinosaur displays, gems, minerals, and the famous Wichita County meterorite. The Comanche Indians regarded the space rock as a precious medicine stone.

5) The Bullock Texas State History Museum

Are you a history buff? Strike oil with the Bullock Texas State History Museum's interactive exhibits, IMAX theatre, and Artifacts. Explore WWI, the Austin City Limits Installation - listening to Loretta and Lyle Lynn, how the Texas story began and so much more. You're sure to know your Texas history as you exit these doors.
